Let's discuss . . .

Yesterday I posted the quote from the Dalai Lama. I saw it several places yesterday and everyone agreed that it really struck a chord.

What did it mean to you? I thought of my mom who is nearing 90 and is so afraid of dying (always has been) that she has never really lived. And now, she is angry about being old. I want more for her - joy - contentment of a good life - love - peace - laughter. But, I see only fear.

What came to your mind when you read the quote? I would love to know, please.

  1. i thot "crap. even life is a vicious cycle."

i think there is a lot of truth in the statement. and if we have been fortunate enuf to really hear what the statement is saying, perhaps we can make adjustments in our living to have a more balanced life.

  2. I think we all are "guilty" of forgetting to live in the moment. We have not had the training or upbringing of a Dali Lama, but his words are truth. Until we can be accepting of this moment,we arent truely living, just going thru the motions. People need to take time to go within to find the peace that living in the moment brings. I wish comfort to your mother.
