I love these guiding words and I am off to do just that!
"I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you." Oprah Winfrey
I have wanted an IQ (Intelliquilter) for over a year - since MQS 2007 in Kansas City. I took a session from Helen Baczynski at that show and I was "hooked". I love computers, love quilting, love working with graphics design on computers - it was a match made in heaven. But, I first had to go off and spend those two semesters teaching - what was I thinking?
Now, on July 1, Helen is coming to install my very own IQ on my very own A1 quilting machine - also known as Miss Daisy. I am naming my new IQ "Hoke" - he drove the real Miss Daisy in the movie.
And - my studio reorganization - how is that coming you ask? Well it has been slow. I have come to the realization that my "stuff" has started having "stuff" of its own. Then it hit me! There is a bedroom right off my studio area that we rarely use - maybe once every 2 years for guests if then. We have 2 other bedrooms with a shared bath that we use for guests (and Weston) in the main part of our home. The studio is in an "apartment-like" area over the garage. So, what would be better than to turn that bedroom into a closet with shelves. After all, I am not running a Bed and Breakfast here - I am running a quilting arts business. So now, I will have a huge, walk-in storage area. It doesn't get any better than that. Right?
It is a great day! I am so excited!
Wow! Congratulations Carol on your new IQ's arrival as well as the new "closet".
