The roof is finished. Finally - no more pounding to replace the shingles. It is a shake shingle roof and it has been over 3 weeks. First they have to scrape off the old shingles - very noisy work. Not me - but my mom. She flew out mid-day today to spend a couple months with my sister in Chandler. I know she will enjoy the much warmer weather and the family fun. It was a day to be a vegetable - cozy in the chair - fixing some computer stuff - reading - catching up on phone calls with friends and family. We had about 8 inches of new snow overnight.I had hoped to be in the studio, but this is the day the roofing company started putting on the new shingles. We had a great day yesterday - a good visit with Bob's sister and hubby in Missoula before heading home. Just a quick note about yesterday and today . . .• Bob and I did our Senior Grocery deliveries yesterday. We had one elderly lady pass out while we were there and so we called her family and waited a bit after she came around until her niece arrived. We got home this afternoon. We left the Parker area yesterday and came over to Goodyear on the far west edge of metro Phoenix. This is a picture of the clean Gus just before we left. There was a portable RV washing team that came through the park and we had them give Gus a bath. Yesterday we went to Yuma. We had a good visit with my cousin and his wife. She fixed us a spectacular lunch - truly a magnificent meal. She fixed flounder and the way she cooked it was just delicious. She added baked asparagus and a wonderful seasoned baked potato along with great bread. We stayed close to the coach today. We decided to do some deep cleaning and even got the carpets cleaned by a guy who is retired here in this park and comes down here for winters with his RV carpet cleaning business. We had a good day. We did a little more stuff around here this morning and then had a good visit with my brother part of the afternoon. I continue to work on this little quilt. I am just doing freehand whatever I want around the motifs and liking it.I hope to finish it tomorrow, but I want to get a few Christmas decorations up. The Middle Creek Women's Club started out here in this area about 90 years ago. Women had to live near Middle Creek in order to belong. Now the club includes many of us who have moved into the area as well as several descendents of those who originally started the club.Today was our Christmas meeting which is a buffet and a white elephant silent auction. Well, what have we been doing - besides eating lots of turkey - since Thanksgiving? The pics on the side here are of Weston today.
